Here comes a tooth!!!
Jacob and I were playing our usual peek a boo game with a curtain this morning and I spotted just the very tip of a tooth peeking through the gum. It's the lower left tooth! I can't wait until he has a full grin!

10 months old!!!
Jacob turned 10 months old. I just love being his Mommy. He is so affectionate- gives kisses and lots of hugs. He enjoys our mornings where we just snuggle in bed, sing songs, bounce and tickle, label lots of objects around us. Jacob talks on the phone (which is the monitor), hides his monkey (basically just drops it behind him), ang gives us the zerberts. He laughs and plays all day. Since its been so nice out we've spent a lot of time outdoors. Jacob enjoys the playground. He loves to swing, climb, and go down the slide (face first). He understand so much more now. He knows chustawka (swing), slizgawka (slide), wiatrak (fan), jezyk (tongue), bubbles, dip, buty (shoes), skarpeta (sox), toes (paluszki), czapka (hat), zyrafa (giraffe), slonce (sun), aligator, zaba (frog), crab, krowa (cow), baranek (sheep), train, samochud (car), dziadzio (granpa), babcia (grandma), nanny (Gram), drzewo (tree), trawa (grass), okno (window), zgas swiatlo (turn off the light), odkurzacz (vacuum), guzik (button), woda (water), picie (drink), odwuz (open)- he is also signing open. He will point to each of the items When you ask him to show off his tongue in Polish - he'll do it. He claps, waves bye bye, gives high five (usually for me), signs diamond when we sing "twinkle twinkle little star" and he will scream when we sing "row row row your boat ... if you see an alligator you'd better scream". It's hilarious. In terms of expressive language Jacob says dada, no, dog, mama, ball, and niam niam (for food). Its still a bit inconsistent but he is sure trying. He is vocalizing "dough" all the time for everything. We joke that he is our little Homer Simpson. Jacob loves to be outside. The most favorite activity is pushing the stroller and walking behind it. In addition he enjoys picking grass and flowers. Jacob cruises holding on to the furniture, the wall and our legs. He crawls so fast around the house. We have a pretty solid routine. He still sleeps twice a day. The morning nap decreased in duration thus making the afternoon nap a bit longer. It all depends if we have been at the playground. The boy sleeps so much better when he's been outside and moving. He knows when its time for bath, nap time, and bed. He has been sleeping through the night (knock on wood).since I stopped night time nursing
Jacob enjoys spending time with family. His "stranger anxiety" has calmed down quite a bit. He is just a happy kid. Jacob loves to play with Daddy and Mommy, especially in the morning. He knows exactly when it's time for bath, bed, and nap. At meal time, he feeds himself cheerios, crackers, bite size veggies and soft fruits using a full grasp. He will drink by himself through the sippy cup. I have given him water/juice through an open cup and he does quite well I might add. He has managed to stand by himself a few times for a few seconds. Jacob is still a big boy. He weighs 22 lbs and 14 ounces, measures 30.25 inches, wears 12 month shirts and 18 months pants, and his foot size is 4. 5 . We are getting ready for our first vacation to Florida at the end of this month. We are so incredibly excited.

Jacob is standing!
Today Jacob stood for a few seconds without holding on to anything! He surprises us all the time! Today was a gorgeous 70+ degree day and we have spend it mostly outside. We have met up with Jackie and Matthew, as well as, Tom and Thomas at the playground early this afternoon. The boys had fun swinging, going down the slide, and climbing. Jacob borrowed one of the umbrella strollers at the playground and was pushing and walking behind it (his favorite thing to do nowadays). After an hr and forty five minute nap this afternoon we went back to the playground with Daddy and the Babe. We just love the warmth. I got some color on my face and so did Jacob. I need to experiment with different natural Sunblocks before our trip to Florida at the end of this month. We don't know if Jacob has the ability to get a tan like me or if he burns like a lobster like Daddy. So we need to get him some sun protection. When we came back Jacob climbed the back stairs all by himself and pulled himself up at the railing. When I started to sing "shake your booty" -- he started to dance (which is the first). It was so stinking cute!

Day in the sun!
So I need to catch up and give everyone a quick update. Jacob has a cold -again! no fever though. He fooled us on April Fools day- he still has no teeth. Today we went to the playground with Thomas & Danielle and Mathew & Jackie. Then, we (Danielle, Thomas, Jacob, and I) stopped at the Common Ground for lunch and yummy smoothies. The boys really loved the fruit goodness. Jacob had a tough morning and went to sleepies 1 hr past his usual time. So we are running one hr behind. It's 4 o'clock and he is still sleeping (he went down at 2:30). I hope he goes to bed at his usual time though.
This week we've already been to the St. Brendan's playgroup on Monday. Jacob's new thing is pushing and walking behind chairs, cars, bikes, shopping cars, strollers. He is so independent and driven to go forward. He started pushing a car and walking when Grandma Marjorie was here last week. He already had a few stumbles and bumps, but he just dusts himself off (actually that's usually my job), cries a little, needs a hug, and a second later is back at it. Yesterday we went to the doctor. When I was changing Jacob's diaper I have noticed a bruise on his right rib and I felt a quite significant bump. I got worried and took him to get evaluated. Apparently, it's just a bad bruise that will heal itself in time. Now, it's brownish green in color so it's going away. Grandpa said that Jacob probably fell on top of a toy box at their house during Easter. I didn't see it or heard him cry so I hope it didn't hurt as bad as it looks.
Last Sunday we had Easter at Grandma Regina's house. We've had a great time. Jacob enjoyed playing with everyone, especially Izabelle, Adrian, and Grandpa.
The week before, Grandma Marjorie was in town. Jacob just loved her company. When she was leaving for the airport he did not want to let her go. It was soooo sweet.

Happy Birthday Mommy!
I had a wonderful time on my birthday-- turning 29 for the 3rd time! We (Jacob, Scottie, Grandma Marjorie, Grandma Regina, Grandpa, Monika, Wojtek, Izabelle, and Adrian) went to the Quincy Tavern, one of my favorite places. There we've had a delicious dinner and a chocolate cake from a German bakery. I received a number of beautiful gifts. In addition, I got some valuable advise, such as "don't kick a turn on a hot day" (especially a dog's turd). Jacob was good as gold - even though it was way past his bedtime when we returned home.
