Welcome June!

So, I cannot believe that it's June. Last year at this time I was so ready to have Jacob, anxious about the birth process, and just plain tired. Well, now I am still tired but enjoy every moment and milestone of our little munchkin. What's been happening for the last couple of weeks? TEETHING. All of his upper teeth are coming in at once. The top right broke through about a week and a half ago and the others will pop out any minute now. Jacob is still not napping well but thankfully sleeps through the night (knock on wood). We are in the final preparations for his christening/birthday party on June 7th. A couple of days ago Jacob fell and bit his lip with his bottom teeth. He had a fat lip for two days-- which is going away right now. The same day he hit himself with a spoon and had a swollen eye - ugh!.

Now, he is in the beginning stages of a cold. He is coughing, sneezing, and pooping all the time. I took him to see Dr. Sheff and we have to let the sickness run its course. Poor baby. He is tossing and truing in his crib right now. So that in combination with the cold is quite tough on our little guy. I just hope he feels better so he can enjoy his party on Sunday. On the bright side-- I found out that he weights a little over 23 pounds. He is definitely slowing down-- thank goodness! At the rate that he was growing he would have been 6 ft and 300 pounds at the age of six (of course I am exaggerating here-- but you get the point).

Today we stayed home for the most part. We hung out with Gram and Auntie Julie. Jacob was very interested in the construction outside. Did I mention that they have been ripping out the sidewalk right in front of our house. Jackhammering and beeps all day long does not help the reestablishing of a nap schedule! but it has been very entertaining for Jacob. It makes me nervous that one of the pebbles will scratch my NEW CAR!!! I can't believe that I have not written about my NEW CAR!!! Did I mention that I have a NEW CAR? It's a Prius! very futuristic and Eco-friendly ride. You actually press a button to start it-- even a not so one-year-old can do it! We picked the car last Wednesday and we love it. I think Jacob is much happier to be out of the clam mobile. We also turned his car seat around facing front, so now he can see us driving and it's easier to pass snacks, toys, and toothbrushes to the back. I occasionally tickle his toes at a red light. We drive and listen to Magic 106.7 which surprisingly puts little Jacob to sleep. Now that i do have an MP3 connection-- it will be much easier to listen to my ZEN- ahh... I enjoy my ride.
