Jacob turned 17 months old today. We went to the Lower Mills Public Library and enjoyed the toddler story time/music class with a bunch of kids. Jacob enjoys these activities so much. He gets in the car and says "playgroup" with such enthusiasm. We enjoy the St. Brendan's playgroup (our old favorite), Lower Mills Library, Adams St. Library, Newton Library Toddler sing-a long (our new found favorite). I have been on a mission to find activities for the winter months. I am sure you will hear all about it.
On Monday Jacob had his doctor's appointment. He weighs 25.08 pounds, which places him in the 58 percentile. He is 33.33 inches tall, which puts him in the 90 percentile. He received his "regular" vaccinations and he didn't even flinch. We have requested a numbing medicine from Dr. Sheff who was kid enough to prescribe it. It works wonders!!! Jacob was so distracted with stickers that he didn't even notice that the doc. gave him a shot. What a relief... I wish a new about it sooner. They should inform all parents about that option. I am spreading the word encouraging all parents to demand the cream.
Anyways, Jacob is growing up and becoming a little boy. He is very talkative. Before the doctors and wrote down and counted all of his words in Polish and English. He knows over 75 words. He has been putting two and three words together, for example "Mommy's buty" (mommy's shoes), "daj reke" (give me your hand), "no no hot". Every time he wakes up in the morning he says "Mommy zip zip toes", which translates to Mommy unzip the sleep sack so I can see my toes-- hilarious, smart, and darling. Jacob loves playing drums (yup), guitar, singing, and dancing. He is my little performer. Also, he loves his Dinos. He plays with them all day and carries them in his pockets, reads Dino book, and watches Dinosaur Train cartoon. Elmo is still the favorite though. Lately he has been very fascinated with the alphabet. He points to some letters and knows what they are. Recently he learned how to sign to the itsy bitsy spider song, how to take a bow, and play ring around the rose. When you ask him "how old are you?", he answers "one." He is very proficient with his body parts in both languages-- his favorite are toes! and his belly. He walks around the house lifts his shirt up and says "duzy brzuch" which means "big belly". It's cute and all until he does it to me (ahh!). Jacob is such an affectionate kid-- he gives lots of hugs and kisses. We love him so much and are amazed at how much he is changing everyday.
