We arrived in Waikiki yesterday afternoon. We checked into the Marriott Hotel and we were a bit dissatisfied with our room. Scottie worked his platinum status and got us a wonderful suit with not one but two balconies. It has double the amount of space and Jacob has room to move around. Jacob slept until 8 am today which seldom happens even at home. Yeah!!! Today we started off by taking a long walk down the Waikiki beach strip where all of the shops are located. It is such a beautiful place and a lot different from the Turtle Bay North Shore location. Waikiki is the "happening" town with lots of people and action. We went into Starbucks to get some coffee. There was a crazy lady that came in dressed in a Halloween costume with a big plastic pumpkin bucket. She started yelling, cursing, and threatening people around her, so Scottie and another guy stepped in and bullied her out the door. Aside from that we had an awesome day today. We spent most of the day at the Waikiki beach and the Marriott pool. Jacob took a nap in the stroller, which never happens at home and we had time to relax by the pool and read. I am almost done with my book and can't wait for the next one. We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and finally Kuba had a good dinner. Crab cakes!!! I can't believe that he likes them. I don't know if I mentioned that he has been a very picky eater. So, I think that we will be going to the Cheesecake place a lot more often. After dinner we went for a long walk down the strip. We have seen a number of street performances; musicians, portrait artists, newspaper man, hat makers, jewelry sellers, and we stumbled upon an eating competition at a local mall-- a guy from Ohio won. Needless to say it was an eventful night. I will try to get some pics up now.
